Tāmaki Makaurau Summer 2022 Chess Tournament
Tāmaki Makaurau Summer 2022 Chess Tournament is held from Saturday 26th to Sunday 27th November 2022 at 105 Vincent Street, Auckland CBD, Auckland (venue changed due to access issues to Auckland Chess Centre, 17 Cromwell Street, Mt Eden). The tournament consists of 6 rounds at a pace of 3 rounds per day. Games are played with standard time control of 60 minutes per player plus 30 seconds increment per move.
This tournament aims to help address the “gender gap” in chess by offering free entry for girls below 1300 rating with special prizes for the “Chess Queen Bees”.

$60 per player.
Free ($0) for Girls rated under 1300.
Entry Instructions
No entries accepted after 5pm Friday 25th November 2022 or when full.
Only first 60 fully paid player entries accepted due to space constraints.
Auckland Central Chess Club account for payment: 38-9020-0207616-00 (Player’s name as as reference).

New Zealand chess players who participate in 2 or more NZCF rated events in a year must be a member of a chess club that is affiliated or associated with NZCF (New Zealand Chess Federation). The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess Club offers memberships that fulfill this requirement from just $10.

Open to all players.
Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.
NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.
Format
6 round Swiss tournament, NZCF & FIDE rated where possible.
Time Control
60 minutes each player plus 30 seconds increment per move from move one.
