North Island Rapid 2022
North Island Rapid 2022 is an official NZCF rapid chess championships. The tournament is a Swiss system of 9 rounds with a time control of 25 minutes per player plus 5 seconds increment per move. North Island Rapid 2022 is held at the Ellen Melville Centre in Freyberg Square, Auckland CBD, from 18th to 19th July 2022.

Entry Fees
$60 per player.
$70 per player late entry, after 9.30am 11th July 2022.
Entry Instructions
Auckland Central Chess Club account for payment: 38-9020-0207616-00 (Player’s name as as reference).
Use online entry form to enter.
New Zealand chess players who participate in 2 or more NZCF rated events in a year must be a member of a chess club that is affiliated or associated with NZCF (New Zealand Chess Federation). The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess Club offers memberships that fulfill this requirement from just $10.

Eligibility
Open to all players.
Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.
NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.
Format
9 round Swiss tournament, NZCF & FIDE rated where possible.
Time Controls
25 minutes each player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.

North Island Rapid Champion(s) will have their name(s) engraved on the North Island Rapid trophy.
Maximum of one prize per player.
On receiving more than 50 players, ACCC will contribute to the NZ Olympiad Team Travel Fund for the upcoming Olympiad in Chennai.
