Summit Rookies July 2024 comprise three rapid chess swiss system tournaments of 6 rounds each. The Under 2000 tournament is restricted to players rated under 2000. The Under 1600 tournament is restricted to players rated under 1600. The Under 1000 tournament is restricted to players rated under 1000 and aged under 16 years old.

New Zealand chess players who participate in more than one NZCF rated event in a year must be a member of a chess club that is affiliated or associated with NZCF (New Zealand Chess Federation). The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess Club offers memberships that fulfill this requirement from just $15.

Eligibility
Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.
NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.
Under 2000 tournament is restricted to players with FIDE rating under 2000.
Under 1600 tournament is restricted to players with FIDE rating under 1600.
Under 1000 tournament is restricted to players rated under 1000 and under 16 years old.
Format
Under 2000 division will be NZCF & FIDE Rapid rated where possible, restricted to players with both FIDE rating under 2000.
Under 1600 division will be NZCF & FIDE Rapid rated where possible, restricted to players with both FIDE rating under 1600.
Under 1000 division will be NZCF Rapid rated, restricted to players with both FIDE and NZCF rating under 1000 and under 16 years old.
Time Controls
15 minutes each player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.
