Eligibility

Open to all players.

Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.

Format

South Island Championship is a swiss of 7 rounds.

South Island Rapid is a swiss of 6 rounds.

All tournaments FIDE and NZCF rated where possible.

Time Controls

South Island Championship: Standard, 90 minutes per player with 30 seconds increment per move for all moves.

South Island Rapid: Rapid, 25 minutes per player with 5 seconds increment per move for all moves.
