Late entries (received after 26th August) incur a $10 surcharge and may be accepted up until 8.30am Saturday 29th August 2020.

Northcote Community Hall, 34 College Road (corner College Road and Ernie Mays Street), Northcote.

Eligibility

Open to all players.

Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.

Format

Three 5 round Swiss tournaments, NZCF and FIDE rated where possible.

  1. Open (A-grade) restricted to players FIDE rated 1800 or higher (juniors rated below 1800 may be accepted).
  2. B-grade restricted to players rated under 2000.
  3. C-grade restricted to players rated under 1500.

Time Controls

90 minutes each player plus 30 seconds increment per move from move one.

Half-point Byes

A player may take a half-point bye in any one of the first three rounds. Notice must be given before the start of the tournament and may be given on the entry form.
