NZCF National Interschools Finals 2023 concludes the official annual interschool chess competition by the New Zealand Chess Federation. The NZCF National Interschools Chess Finals is held over two days on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September 2023 at Saint Kentigern College, 130 Pakuranga Road, Pakuranga, Auckland.

$80 per team by 1st September 2023.

$120 per team after 1st September 2023.

$120 per team “Wildcard”.

New Zealand chess players who participate in more than one NZCF rated event in a year must be a member of a chess club that is affiliated or associated with NZCF (New Zealand Chess Federation). The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess Club offers memberships that fulfill this requirement from just $15.

Travel Arrangements

Format

The event comprises three sections/divisions:

  1. Primary (years 1-6 students).
  2. Intermediate (years 7-8 students).
  3. Secondary (years 9-13 students).

Each section will be run as a Team Swiss with 7 rounds.

Time Controls

The time control will be 25 minutes plus 5 seconds increment per move using digital chess clocks.
