NZ Women’s Championship 2023 is a 7 round chess tournament for women and girls of all ages held from 25th to 28th September 2023 at Howick Information Centre, Howick, Auckland.

Entry Fees
$70 Championship
$50 Reserve (Under 1300 rating)
Family discount, deduct $10 per player for 2 or more family members.
Entry Instructions
Pay entry fees by direct deposit to Howick – Pakuranga Chess Club BNZ Account 02-0168-0091321-01. Reference ‘Womens Champs’ and which tournament – ‘Çhamps’ or ‘Reserve’ and put ‘Your Name’ in particulars.
Entries and payment must be made by Friday 22nd September 2023. No entries will be accepted on the day.

New Zealand chess players who participate in more than one NZCF rated event in a year must be a member of a chess club that is affiliated or associated with NZCF (New Zealand Chess Federation). The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess Club offers memberships that fulfill this requirement from just $15.

Travel Arrangements
Eligibility
Open to women and girls of all ages.
Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.
NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.
Format
Two separate 7 round Swiss tournament, NZCF & FIDE rated where possible. A Championship and a Reserve (Under 1300 rating).
Time Controls
60 minutes each player plus 30 seconds increment per move from move one.

The winner of the Championship will hold the Mabel Abbott Queen Trophy for the year. The winners of the Championship and Reserve will receive miniatures. There will also be some book prizes.
