COVID-19: Chess Resumes in NZ under alert level 1
The New Zealand government announced that the country would be moving to COVID-19 alert level 1 starting 12am Tuesday 9th June 2020. Under alert level 1, there are practically no restrictions within New Zealand with only the border remaining closed and contact tracing continuing.
Over the board chess activity would be able to resume under alert level 1 conditions. Expect to be able to resume playing chess regularly at your local chess club.
Chess tournaments would also be able to be held again. Travel within New Zealand is unrestricted and encouraged. Support the chess events being organised by participating in them.
