Summit Rookies March 2023 comprise two rapid chess swiss system tournaments of 6 rounds each. The Open tournament is restricted to players rated under 1800. The Under 1000 tournament is restricted to players rated under 1000 and aged under 16 years old.

$35 per player per tournament.

$300 per player for 2023 yearly pass.

Use online entry form to enter.

New Zealand chess players who participate in more than one NZCF rated event in a year must be a member of a chess club that is affiliated or associated with NZCF (New Zealand Chess Federation). The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess Club offers memberships that fulfill this requirement from just $10.

Eligibility

Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.

Open tournament is restricted to players rated under 1800.

Under 1000 tournament is restricted to players rated under 1000 and under 16 years old.

Format

Summit Rookies March 2023 comprise two 6 round Swiss tournaments.

Open Under 1800 division will be NZCF & FIDE Rapid rated where possible, restricted to players with both FIDE and NZCF rating under1800.

U1000 division will be NZCF Rapid rated, restricted to players with both FIDE and NZCF rating under 1000 and under 16 years old.

Time Controls

15 minutes each player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.
