Peter Stuart Memorial 2021

Peter Stuart Memorial 2021 (formerly North Shore Open) comprise three separate chess tournaments held from 28th to 29th August 2021 at Northcote Community Centre. The three chess tournaments held as part of Peter Stuart Memorial 2021 would be played as Swiss system tournaments of five rounds. Games have a single time control of 90 minutes per player for the game with 30 seconds increment per move.

Northcote Community Centre, corner College Road / Ernie Mays Street.

Eligibility

Open to all players.

Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.

Format

Three 5 round Swiss tournaments, NZCF & FIDE rated where possible.

  1. Open restricted to players FIDE rated 1800 or higher (Juniors rated below 1800 may be accepted).
  2. B-grade restricted to players rated under 2000.
  3. C-grade restricted to players rated under 1500.

Time Controls

90 minutes each player plus 30 seconds increment per move from move one.

Half-point Byes

A player may take a half-point bye in any one of the first three rounds. Notice must be given before the start of the tournament and may be given on the entry form.
