Entry Details
Entry Fees
$55 per player ‘A‘ tournament.
$45 per player ‘B‘ tournament.
$25 per player ‘Junior‘ tournament.
$10 Late Fee if payment not received by Wednesday 11th February 2026. Entries without payment are treated as late and can be paid in cash up to 9am 15th February 2026.
Entry Instructions
Entries on the day of play accepted only at the discretion of the organiser.
The organiser reserves the right to shift a player to a different tournament.
Club account for payment: Hawkes Bay Chess Club 03–0658–0245215–00 (please include your name and ‘HB Rapid’ as the reference).
Use online entry form to enter.
New Zealand chess players who participate in any NZCF rated event must be a member of a chess club that is affiliated or associated with NZCF (New Zealand Chess Federation). The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess Club offers memberships that fulfill this requirement from just $20 per year.

Eligibility
Open to all players.
Players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.
Format
Three separate 6 round Swiss tournaments, games may be FIDE Rapid rated.
- A tournament for all players.
- B tournament for players rated below 1800.
- Junior tournament for players rated below 1200 and under the age of 14 before 1st January 2025.
The organiser reserves the right to move a player to a different tournament category.
Time Controls
25 minutes each player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.
