Entry Fees

$55 per player ‘A‘ tournament.

$45 per player ‘B‘ tournament.

$25 per player ‘Junior‘ tournament.

$10 Late Fee if payment not received by Tuesday 7th February 2023. Entries without payment are treated as late and can be paid in cash up to 9am 11th February 2023.

Entry Instructions

Entries on the day of play accepted only at the discretion of the organiser.

The organiser reserves the right to shift a player to a different tournament.

New Zealand chess players who participate in 2 or more NZCF rated events in a year must be a member of a chess club that is affiliated or associated with NZCF (New Zealand Chess Federation). The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess Club offers memberships that fulfill this requirement from just $10.

Eligibility

Open to all players.

Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.

Format

Three separate 6 round Swiss tournaments, NZCF and FIDE rated where possible.

  1. A tournament for players rated 1800 or higher.
  2. B tournament for players rated below 1800.
  3. Junior tournament for players rated below 1200 and under the age of 20 before 1st January 2023.

 

The organiser reserves the right to move a player to a different tournament category.

Time Controls

25 minutes each player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.
