Entry Fees

$50 per player Under 1800.

$40 per player Junior.

$50 per player A Grade and B Grade.

$40 per player Junior.

$5 discount per player if 2 or more players of the same immediate family.

FREE for GMs and IMs but $50 entry fee deducted from prizes over $100.

Event Information

Due to the continuous lockdown of Auckland, we have decided to move the November Summit Chess Championships online

1. The Open division will be removed. We will only have an U1800 division and Junior division (Under 14yrs on 01/01/2021 & Rating under 1200).

2. The players who play in the U1800 Division need to use an external camera. Please check the details in figure 8.

3. The tournament will be on Tornelo.com, and will start at 10:00 am on November 21, 2021.

4. The time control will be 25 minutes + 5 seconds, with a total of 6 rounds.
Schedule:
Round 1-3, starting from 10am. 5 minutes between each round
Round 4-6, starting from 2pm. 5 minutes between each round.

5. Entry fees
$50 for U1800 division & $40 for Junior division

6. Prizes
In addition to the Cash prizes, the winners will receive a certificate, also medals for the top three players in each group.

7. Internet connection and hardware are the player’s responsibility. A player who accidentally loses connection will be considered lost.

8. To ensure a fair playing environment for the players, we will monitor and record videos of the U1800 division through Zoom. This requests that during the tournament, each player in the U1800 division must set up a smartphone, laptop or a similar device in the right (or left) back corner. There needs sufficient lighting to clearly see the display screen and the player’s profile.
Players need to log in to Zoom with this device, and must keep their microphone turned on. The name displayed in Zoom should be changed to the player’s full name.

If a player participating in the U1800 division does not use the appropriate camera, they can still participate in the competition, but cannot win any prizes!

Zoom login opens at 8.30am on Sunday the 21st, I will also enter Zoom to help you check whether the camera meets the requirements before the tournament.

Please remember that only using the front camera on the computer you are playing chess on is not acceptable.

Eligibility

Open to players rated Under 1800 and Juniors (Under 14 years on 1st January 2021 and rated Under 1200).

Open to all players.

Non-NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.

Format

Two separate 6 round Swiss tournaments, run online.

Three separate 6 round Swiss tournaments, NZCF & FIDE rated where possible.

Time Controls

25 minutes each player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.

Schedule

Rounds 1-3, starting from 10am. 5 minutes between each round.
Rounds 4-6, starting from 2pm. 5 minutes between each round.
