Event Information

As part of the lead up to International Chess Day, 20th July 2020, former New Zealand Chess Champions FM Martin Dreyer and FM Ewen Green, played a match against each other over 6 games of Blitz chess. The match was held at Poppies Bookshop in Howick, Auckland.

FM Ewen Green won the match 4-2 against FM Martin Dreyer. Following the match, Ewen played blindfold chess against his students. The event helped promote interest in chess and instilled some chess culture into the community of Howick.

  • Round 8 is the blindfold game by Ewen.
  • Rounds 9 to 10 are games from juniors who wished to play.
