Entry Fees

'A' tournament: $50 per player.

'B' tournament: $50 per player.

'C' tournament: $40 per player.

'Junior' tournament: $20 per player.

Subtract $5 per player for 2 or more members of same immediate family. ($5 family discount)

Fully paid entries received by 27th November 2019 go into refund lucky draw.
$10 per player Late Fee if payment not received / not shown by Friday 29th November 2019.

No entries accepted on day of play.

Saturday 30th November 2019. 'A', 'B' and 'C' tournaments.

Sunday 1st December 2019. 'Junior' tournament

Venue

St George (formerly RSA) Bowling Club, 86 Cambridge Terrace, Papatoetoe.


Eligibility

Open to all players.

Non-NZL players must have FIDE-ID issued by their chess federation.

NZL players without FIDE ID must provide full Date of Birth.

Foreign Chess Players

Papatoetoe Chess Club welcomes entries from foreign chess players.

Foreign chess players may require New Zealand Visa prior to travel to New Zealand.
Formal invitation letters can be provided for New Zealand Visa application purposes.
It is vital that players start their visa application process before 1st June 2019.

Format

Four separate 6 round Swiss tournaments, FIDE and NZCF rated where possible.

'A' tournament for players rated 1800 and above.

'B' tournament for players rated below 1800.

'C' tournament for players rated below 1500.

'Junior' tournament for players aged under 20 years before 1st January 2019.

The organisers reserve the right to shift a player to a different tournament if they feel an inappropriate one has been entered.

Time Controls

Rapid:
25 minutes each player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.

Refreshments

Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be available to players throughout the tournament.

Winners names are engraved on Junior Championship Trophy and Best Girl Trophy. Winners take home engraved miniature cups.

PLEASE NOTE: No player may claim more than one prize. In the event of a tie, prize money will be shared.

'Junior' tournament trophies and medallions are subject to tie-breaks. Each player can only win one trophy/medallion in addition to monetary prize.

SPECIAL PRIZES that players can win in addition to trophy/medallion and monetary prize are awarded in the 'Junior' tournament.

Players eligible for open or grade prize would receive the highest monetary value prize.
